Forget Plan A, Go to Plan E

Why Plan E? Plan E is a reminder that we made an EFFORT.  After the other plans didn't quite work out.  Some of what we wanted to happen did and somethings did not.

Our first attempt at fall lambing didn't go as expected.  However, we learned from that experience and have a new and improved plan for next year.

We just wrapped up our show year ( yes it's January) with the 2018 PA Farm Show. While it was a smaller than expected show we had a great day in the show ring. Kally's flock in their final show came back to the farm with: Champion Tunis Ram; Champion Tunis Ewe; Premier Breeder; and Premier Exhibitor.  We were exhausted and very happy with the results.

The amount of effort it takes to get there sheep show ready in January is monumental. It also meant late nights washing towels to use the next day. Carding fleece and trimming it to get that perfect fitted appearance.  That's not only effort but patience.

Our plan to bring almost done with lambing by now didn't go as planned.  But that meant we didn't have to deal with newborn lambs in negative temperatures and wind chills.  Everyone was happy with temperature readings in the twenties.

Now we are anxiously awaiting ewes to lamb.
